ty clack for commissioner district 3
about me...
My name is Ty Clack, and I am honored to running for the position of Jackson County Board of Commissioners District 3.
I am a Christian, husband, father, and successful career sales representative.
My wife Heather and I will be married for 20 years this coming October. We have two children that currently attend Jackson County. My son Cooper is a rising senior and my daughter Kelsey is a rising sophomore.
I have been a volunteer youth football coach for 7 years and a youth basketball coach for 6 years. I enjoy golfing, Quail hunting, and watching my kids play basketball.
We have been attending Free Chapel Braselton since they started in January of 2021.
As a previous member of the United Methodist Church of The Way in Lawrenceville, I served on the church executive board for 3 years, the building team committee for 2 years, head of the setup team for 2 years and volunteered in children’s ministry.
I currently am an outside sales representative at Builders First Source in Gainesville GA, which is a position I have held for over 16 years. I have managed nearly $100 million in career sales at BFS. I have received numerous annual Superior Sales Performance Awards.
I was elected to the Jackson County Board of Education District 5 in 2022, and served in that role until April when I was required to step down to run for this position. While on the Board of Education I have been instrumental in leading the way on passing a senior tax resolution that will help Jackson County Seniors get some much needed tax relief. Through my determination and dedication, my fellow Jackson County BOE Members and I led the charge by passing a senior tax resolution in 2023, which was the first proposed school senior tax change in Jackson County since 1991. In my time on the BOE, we opened one new school (Legacy Knoll Middle School) in the fall of 2023 and will be opening another new school (Heroes Elementary School) this fall.
Naming Heroes Elementary is something I played a large part in. I believe Heroes will be monumental in the way that Elementary school students learn and respect local Heroes that honor and serve our schools and communities every day.
Jackson County is a beautiful place that has many things to offer people looking for a family-oriented place to raise a family and a great place to start a business. As a place that is so enticing to many, there will continue to be tough challenges with growth. The solutions to these problems require someone who will stand for what is right, no matter the ramifications from the elite few who wish to appoint people into leadership positions. I believe all the people of Jackson County, both new and old, deserve a voice in the decisions made by elected officials. I am a natural leader. I build bridges, relationships, and coalitions of mutual respect to get the absolute best for our neighbors & friends. Based on my experiences in my career, experiences in church leadership, and experience in school board service, I believe I am perfectly
and uniquely qualified for this position.
I only promise one thing if the people of Jackson County chose me to serve them in this position.
HONEST TRANSPARENT COMMUNICATION.
I look forward to hearing from you, earning your trust, and earning your vote.
Sincerely,
Ty Clack
